Joint Base San Antonio

JBSA is the consolidation of Lackland Air Force Base, Fort Sam Houston and Randolph Air Force Base, that specializes in training, healthcare, installation management and more. The Compatible Lands Foundation is working with JBSA to protect training operations at Camp Bullis, which is critical to providing combat medical training for military personnel from all branches of the Service.
In addition to protecting military training operations, significant conservation benefits are also key to CLF’s work at JBSA. Much of the land to be protected is recharge for the Edwards Aquifer, the sole drinking water source for San Antonio. Additionally, these lands also provide critical habitat for the Golden-cheeked warbler, a federally endangered species of migratory bird.
